Mellem rum

Mellem rum (The Space Between) consists of 10 collages and photographs (size 15x21cm) all handmade and unique, made with leftovers, teststrips and failures I’ve collected from one year working in the darkroom.
The series experiments with alternative ways of working with classic silver gelatin prints and leftover materials from the darkroom. What happens in the space between a print becoming a print in the darkroom? And what arises in the surplus, the advance and in the indefinable “in between”?
The work is an exploration of the abstract in space and time through both the physical design of the space between the surfaces in the collages and the airy space that appears in the motifs.
Four of the works will be exhibited at Nordnorsken 2026.
